Carlisle Racecourse
Each year in June Carlisle Racecourse holds the iconic Cumberland Plate and Carlisle
Bell races, carrying on a tradition which dates back to the 17th century.
Carlisle's
autumn meetings provide useful pointers at the opening of the jump season. Red Rum
fans will remember his wins here before each of his Grand National triumphs.
Located
just off Junction 42 of the M6, Carlisle Racecourse offers state of the art facilities
for both race day and non race day events. Accompanied children aged 16 and under
can come racing for free.
